Marc-Oliver Gewaltig - Bio-sketch

Marc-Oliver Gewaltig is principal scientist at the Honda Research Institute Europe GmbH in Offenbach/Germany. His research focuses the function and properties of columns in sensory cortices of mammals, using mathematical analysis and large scale computer simulations.

Marc-Oliver Gewaltig is co-author of the simulation tool NEST and co-founder of the NEST Initiative (www.nest-initiative.org), a research initiative to investigate and develop technology for the simulation of large neuronal systems at the level of neurons.
